Frequently Asked Questions

Where do we start?

I offer a free 20-minute phone call to all new clients who have questions about my approach, or the counselling process. We can use that time to talk briefly about what brings you in, and what kind of support you are looking for.
If you feel ready to book an appointment, you can contact me to do so, or book online.

What is EMDR?

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It is an evidenced-based treatment for trauma, PTSD, anxiety and phobias. It can be used for single, acute trauma, as well as chronic, historical traumas. It involves thinking about the elements of a traumatic experience while experiencing bilateral stimulation through eye movements, sounds or tapping. It does not require you to describe the trauma in detail, or out-loud. During EMDR therapy, you are conscious, awake and in control the entire time. Find out more here.

Do you offer a sliding scale?

I hold several spots for clients who require a reduced rate. Contact me to find out more.

Are you covered by extended benefits?

Whether your benefits cover Registered Clinical Counselling depends on the benefits package your company has purchased. You can contact your insurance company directly to find out whether RCC’s are covered under your plan.

What if I need immediate support?

If you are in crisis and need immediate support, please contact the 24/7 crisis line at 1-800-784-2433, or call 911.
